Employer Satisfaction

The Employer Satisfaction Survey (ESS) is being developed as part of the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching suite of higher education surveys and has the potential to provide ongoing assurance from employers about the quality of the higher education experience.

The Social Research Centre will conduct the ESS which will gather employer feedback about student’s generic and technical skills and how this has prepared them for the workforce. The research aims to ensure that institutions are responsive to labour market and industry needs. 

The first pilot administration of the ESS was conducted in 2013-14 by the Workplace Research Centre at the University of Sydney and ORC International on behalf of the Department of Education and Training.

Further refinement of the survey methodology and instrument has taken place through a further trial administration in 2014-15, with a full-scale release in 2015-16. Until the first iteration of the full survey is complete, no ESS data is published on this website.
